My research mission is to use data generated by research and cutting edge technology like 3D printing and artificial intelligence to promote minimally invasive/ function preserving surgery.
Research Summary
My research has focused on the cancers of head and neck, particularly those of the thyroid and the oral cavity. My research interests span both clinical outcome and translational research. My paper on prognostic nomogram is an important milestone in this endeavor. I have over 140 peer reviewed papers and abstracts, 10 book chapters and edited two volumes of Head and Neck Cancer Clinics. secured. I have two US patents granted and secured over $2 million in grants to support research and infrastructure.
Goals
My research goal is to improve treatment outcomes of head and neck cancer patients through clinical and translational research.
Research Biography
Dr. Pathak completed PhD (human anatomy and cell sciences) from University of Manitoba and Master of Health Management, McMaster University. He completed his medical training and general surgical residency at the Banaras Hindu University in India (MBBS 1991, MS-1994). He is a diplomat of the National Board (1995) and a member of National Academy of Medical Sciences, India (2006). He has mentored numerous graduate and undergraduate students, residents and fellows.
